I would like to introduce an exciting new
clavichord by the artist designer Dale Reynolds

6061 Aluminum Clavichord | |||
While the instrument has a traditional form it is striking in its contemporary look and materials. The soundboard, bridge, and hitch pin rail have been engineered to be an integral part of the nearly all aluminum instrument. The soundboard itself is made of pure aluminum as the 6061 alloy may not be suitable for good tone production. The keyboard shown here is made of wood and bone but your choice of keys is nearly limitless. Various colors of acetate and aluminum are available on request! The Benson Bridge, named for its inventor, has the traditional shape of a clavichord bridge but is built with a three part layered aluminum construction using holes in lieu of the traditional bridge pins. As extraordinary as this clavichord is, it is still undergoing minor modifications to continue to improve the sound and performance of this unique clavichord. While I take no credit in the design and building of this instrument, I am glad to be assisting the builder in making design and tonal modifications that may seem fit to potential owners of the 6061 aluminum clavichord. Please feel free to contact me for more information about the design, options, and pricing of this clavichord.
